Brú na Bóinne

oh, i know, i’m a whiny bastard

the inside of this tomb has a roofbox that lets in sunlight only 2-3 days per year (on purpose)

the most interesting part is that it’s one of the oldest prehistoric sites in the whole world AND that when it was “rediscovered” in the 17th and 18th centuries, all the visitors defaced it … they carved their initials in the walls and things

it’s nice to know that americans aren’t the only jerks =)

Funny thing is, the inside is used to seeing dead people. Which is good because the watertight roof keeps in all the boredom.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newgrange   <–doesn’t list how the face of the structure was “reconstructed” ON A GUESS by some archeologist in the 1970’s … what a waste!
